We are opening another batch (Batch 15 2009) for Basic Photography workshop to accommodate the growing number of new DSLR users who want to enroll with the FPPF.
Batch 15 will have 5 Sunday sessions on June 7, 14, 21, 28 & July 5 at the FEMII Bldg. The FPPF limits its class size to 40 persons maximum to maintain the quality and effectiveness of the workshops.
Those who wish to join the newly opened batch may register here, or get in touch with our Secretariat at Tel: 524-7576.

Hi! I just want to inquire if there is still an available slot for May 30 batch? Thanks!
May 12th, 2009 at 6:56 pm
@mavic: no more slots in the may 30 batch, mavic. same with the may 31 batch. that’s why we opened the june 7 batch, which is still open (but not for long!). the fppf limits class size to only 40 people each batch.

Good am. What camera model ba ang kailangang dalhin? nagfill up ako ng application 4 basic photogrhapy but my camera model is sony dsc-h5 only… should i buy one (a canon or nikon camera) for d workshop? pls. reply. thank you.
May 17th, 2009 at 11:07 am
Lewili, the Sony Cyber-shot DSC H5 is an SLR-like camera that allows you full photographic control, i.e., it lets you manually select aperture, shutter speed and ISO settings. OK na yan. But if you can buy a new DSLR, you will probably make yourself very happy

May 20th, 2009 at 8:11 pm
if budget allows, get the nikon d90 or canon 50d. otherwise, get their excellent entry-level cameras: canon 450d/500d or 1000d, nikon d40, d60 or the new d5000. there’s also the olympus e-520 or pentax k200d. prepare to spend from P25T to P75T. good luck.
May 21st, 2009 at 12:51 am
Is it ok to use my Olympus SP-560UZ camera? Thanks!
May 21st, 2009 at 6:10 am
the 560UZ is a great ultrazoom camera, dave. it offers full manual control, i.e., you can manually set shutter speed, aperture and ISO, and it even offers spot metering. yes, that’s ok for the workshop.
May 21st, 2009 at 4:09 pm

May 24th, 2009 at 5:39 pm
Hi, my camera is sony dsc h7 would that be ok to use for the workshop?
May 24th, 2009 at 11:28 pm
The Sony DSC-H7 is OK, Ann, because it allows you manual control for shutter speed, ISO and aperture. You’ll have to zoom, though, by pressing a button on the H7 instead of turning a lens as in a DSLR, which is always faster and more responsive.

August 20th, 2009 at 6:53 pm
San po ba ako makakamura kung bibili ako ng Nikon D40 or D60?
August 21st, 2009 at 7:28 am
@fidel, sa hidalgo st. quiapo (malapit sa simbahan) ang alam kong maraming tindahan ng camera. yan ang divisoria ng mga photographers, mas mura ang mga presyo nila kesa nung mga nasa malls. hopefully, some other individuals may offer you even lower prices if they see this post. happy hunting!
October 1st, 2009 at 1:43 pm
Hello po.. Ask ko lang po kung pede po ako mag enroll kahit ang camera ko po ay “Sony DSC H50″ mataas po kasi masyado ang mga dslr. Thanks po.. Hope to hear from you..
October 2nd, 2009 at 10:17 pm
Hi Lhen,
Long zoom, articulating 3-inch LCD, 9 megapixels – hey, what’s not to like about the Sony H50? most importantly, it allows you to manually set your aperture, shutter speed and ISO. It’s a good camera to bring to the workshop! See you, Lhen.
November 8th, 2009 at 10:12 am
Hi. Me and my husband would like to attend either the Nov or Jan workshop on weekends. Which slot/s is/are still open? Thanks.
November 8th, 2009 at 10:15 am
By the way, we are getting the Nikon D90 standard kit next week. I know it is better just to take the body & buy a better lens (18-200), but is it really necessary or will the standard lens of the kit do?
November 9th, 2009 at 5:46 am
first off, that’s an excellent kit lens bundled with the d90; kit lenses bundled with the new nikons and canons are very good nowadays, compared to about 2-3 years ago. the 18-105mm lens is very good, i suggest you take it (there are issues with do-everything lenses like the 18-200, read some reviews).
for the rest of the year, there are weekend classes that start on nov 28 & 29. there’s also a weekday class that will start on nov 23. see sched here:
