The FPPF successfully conducted a photography workshop in Cebu City last week, June 3-5, at the Salazar College of Sciences and Institute of Technology (SCSIT) with 20 participants in attendance, some coming from the cities of Surigao, Cagayan de Oro and General Santos in Mindanao and other outlying places near Cebu.
The workshop participants were taught the intricacies of DSLR camera operations as well as the principles of photography as art, including visual perception, elements of design, composition and lighting theory and practice. The 3-day workshop allowed the participants to do actual shoots using studio lights with several live models – pretty coeds of SCSIT who volunteered to sit for portraiture. The exercise was to make the new photographers understand the nuances of proper lighting with studio strobes. There were also exercises using available window light and enhancing it with the use of reflectors.
