The Cebu Photography Workshop held last June at the SCSIT. Photo shows Prof. Joey Tañedo of the FPPF (he also teaches at the UP College of Fine Arts in Diliman, Q.C.) showing participants how to shoot a portrait in available light. Studio lighting, complete with studio strobes, is also part of the workshop. Also in photo are FPPF instructors Ador Pamintuan and Dennis Araneta.
Details have been finalized: the Cebu Photography Workshop will be held on October 21-23, 2009 at the Sacred Heart Center, D. Jakosalem St., Cebu City.
The course content is similar to our regular Basic Photography course outlined here, compressed in 3 consecutive weekdays — Wednesday, Thursday & Friday. Workshop fee is P5,500 per person, inclusive of meals and snacks for the 3-day seminar.
A team of FPPF mentors will hold the workshop. As before, the team includes Ador Pamintuan, Prof. Joey Tañedo, Dennis Araneta and Chris Malinao. The workshop will cover DSLR camera operation and handling, understanding ISO, aperture and shutter speed and how they relate to correct exposure, mastering depth of field, understanding how the camera meters, composition, elements of design, lighting theory and practice and a comprehensive introduction to the digital imaging workflow. The lessons will be full of hands-on exercises using the DSLR camera. The lighting session will simulate studio photography, complete with studio strobes, for the participants to have an in-depth understanding of lighting principles.

a little note of caution: contest rules say “All entries shall become sole and exclusive property of Epson Philippines Corporation and may be reproduced and/or reprinted into any size for exhibition without seeking permission from the owner nor paying compensation for the acquisition of said photos.” FPPF and the camera clubs frown on this. Please don’t claim other people’s photos as your own “sole and exclusive property.”

Hi Chris,
The rules on the ownership of photos has been clarified. Epson Philippines will only own those photos with regards to exhibitions and releases related to the contest. But the ownership entirely belongs to the photographer.
